This project will examine the tradeoffs and connections among: 1) local adaptation policies and limits to those policies and 2) larger-scale (e.g., national and global) efforts towards mitigation and geo-engineering. Mental models of how lay people think about such tradeoffs will inform the design of model-based decision support tools. The project will then evaluate how people’s mental models may change when interacting with these decision support tools.
